Body English Michal Urbaniak
Discography

Not only the virtuosity of Michał Urbaniak, but also his love of electronic sounds, synthesizers and the instrument that is forgotten today – lyricon – make „Body English” a unique album. Urszula Dudziak still surprises with its reckless vocals, as well as the ingenious use of effects. It doesn’t get boring! The album also played an excellent pianist and keyboardist – Harold „Ivory” Williams. These three, together with the rest of the New York band, recorded an album full of high-quality modern music. Also noteworthy is the intriguing cover designed by Ryszard Horowitz!

News

One of the most important jazz-hop albums is making a comeback ON VINYL! Urbanator was Michal’s brainchild inspired by the growing influence of hip-hop in the 90s New York City.

Beside the original band members (Michal Urbaniak, Lenny White, Al McDowell, Jon Dryden) many legendary musicians have joined forces with Michal to record this album. The Brecker Brothers, Tom Browne, Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Garrett headline the guests’ star power, which contributed to Urbanator gaining “cult” status among fellow musicians and jazz fans all around the world.

International Jazz Day
News

In 2011 UNESCO designated April 30th as International Jazz Day in order to highlight jazz and its role of uniting people. We could not agree more, although there’s one more thing that UNESCO did not mention in their description.

JAZZ IS FREEDOM

Freedom of expression, freedom of rhythm, freedom from labels and musical form. What we love about jazz is that it has no boundaries, jazz music can be everything you want it to be, or as Michał likes to say: Don’t Play the Music, Let the Music Play

The International Jazz Day is just around the corner. Make yourself a gift and celebrate the great story of freedom with one of Urbaniak’s „Jazz Legends” albums featuring some of the best to ever do it: Lenny White, Mike Gerber, Ron Carter, Ted Dunbar, Buster Williams, and Roy Haynes.
